Making the problem worse is that there is seldom a visual cue (no spinning blue wheel) on the computer screen showing that program is loading. In many cases, out of frustration while waiting, a mechanic will then attempt to open the program again, only making the problem worse, since it’s now trying to load Insite twice. The problem is that the latest Insite (version 8.5) takes a huge amount of space, 1.7 GB at the time of writing this. This is almost twice the size as the previous version. Opening such a large program requires a fast processor & a fairly hefty amount of RAM. Insite's most recent update is almost twice the size of the previous version and this is causing some serious problems for shops running older computers. The most common complaint among technicians has been that the program takes a long time to open. We’ve heard stories from mechanics stating that it takes their computer up to 5 minutes to open Insite. Some mechanics said it takes so long to open the program that they actually open Insite prior to taking a break, knowing (hoping?) that it will be open when they return.
